Silicone Wedding Ring Buyer's Guide:  How to pick the best Silicone Wedding Band that fits your lifestyle

So, you have heard about these really cool silicone wedding rings and now you want to know what you should be looking for before you buy.  Ah, you are wise my friend.  There are some key things to look at before buying your silicone ring to make sure you get a quality silicone ring with a great fit.

What to consider before buying a silicone wedding ring:

  • Thickness

  • Quality

  • Style

  • Sizing

  • Storage

Thickness

Thickness is something that changes a lot from company to company.  If you are looking for a rugged and tough silicone wedding ring, shoot for something 3mm or thicker.  These rings hold up really well but can have a more noticeable feel.  Thinner (1-2mm) are great for everyday use, look nice and have a barely there feeling.

Quality

Quality is important, the main concern you need to have is “Is this ring made of medical grade silicone rubber”.  Medical grade silicone is the best and it will last longer, hold up better and not irritate your skin.  An additional concern is to make sure there are no rough edges.  Lower quality rings will not be processed properly out of the molds which can leave rough / sharp edges that will irritate and be uncomfortable.

Style

Style is a personal preference but I would suggest finding a company that produces different styles so you are not limited to just one.  You will find thin, thick, striped, geometric and other styles along your silicone wedding ring journey.  I suggest to try a few and see what works for you.

Sizing

Sizing can vary from company to company.  Make sure the company you work with have a sizing charts with measurements for each size.  Even better make sure your company offers a free exchange program just in case you order the wrong size.  Most silicone wedding bands will stretch, so look into a smaller size if needed.

Storage

Storage for your new ring is important if you swap out a traditional wedding band and silicone wedding bands often.  Most higher quality rings will come with some type of storage.  Some options are gift boxes, zipper pouches, carabiners and others.  Personally I like a ring with a gift box and then use a carabiner to keep a ring on me while I am out and about.

So, there it is, your comprehensive guide on purchasing a silicone wedding ring.  Hopefully you will find this helpful and it will lead you to the one ring to rule them all!
